Equipment and Gear Expanded

Gear is any item that’s not a weapon or some sort of protective item. Gear items are loosely defined, so there is quite a degree of freedom for the players to decide what form different gear items take.
Equipment is weapons, protective items, and a small handful of other, special items. While the below lists are not exhaustive, they are the more common examples. If exact models or options aren’t provided, players may choose what form or model their equipment takes, within reason (see bottom of this section)
Melee weapons
Baseball bat (metal or wood)
Crowbar
Tire iron
Cleaver
Chef’s knife
Extendable baton
Metal pans
Ranged Weapons
Handguns
Rifles
Shotguns
SMGs
Protective Items
Football pads (full set protects most of the upper body)
Catcher’s/Umpire’s pads (Protects upper body and legs)
Cricket pads (as above)
****Equipment isn’t the most common thing in the wasteland, so players are assumed to be taking care of theirs, maintaining and repairing it as needed/capable. Some items are rarer than others:
Ranged Weapons are more common the smaller the caliber. A .50 caliber research Desert Eagle isn’t going to be easily acquired nor is a .50 caliber sniper rifle. These items exist and are able to be found, but they should not be considered incredibly common and ammo for them is going to be even rarer.
That being said, the most common modern ammo calibers are the ones that will be used and are listed below:
.22 (Rifle and Handgun)
9mm (Handgun)
.380 ACP (Handgun)
.45 ACP (Handgun)
.38 Special (Handgun)
.357 Magnum (Rifle and Handgun)
.44 Magnum (Rifle and Handgun)
7.62x39mm (Rifle)
.223/5.56x45mm NATO (Rifle, interchangeable)
.308 Winchester (Rifle)
.30-06 (Rifle)
30-30 (Rifle)
.50 BMG (Large sniper rifle)
.50 AE (Experimental Desert Eagle)
10-gauge buckshot (Very uncommon)
12-gauge buckshot (Common)
12-gauge slug (Common, ½ range)
20-gauge buckshot (less common)
20-gauge slug (less common, ½ range)
This list is non-exhaustive, and ammo types may be added or removed as it’s decided they are needed. If a player wishes to use a type not listed here, or wishes to use a type of ammo listed for handguns in a rifle (or vice versa) they are asked to send a full write up on the weapon desired to the GM/AGM. Handgun-specific ammo calibers are the same calibers used in SMGs.
